Moore Funeral Home was established in 1910 by Hugh M. and Mary Moore to meet the funeral needs of local residents. In the 1930s, the Moore’s established Parkdale Cemetery adjacent to the old city cemetery near downtown Arlington. With the addition of Highway 80 connecting Fort Worth and Dallas, the Moore’s relocated the business. After purchasing White Chapel Memorial Gardens in the late 1950s, the Moore’s later built the funeral home on North Davis Drive. Since then, a long-time associate of the Moore’s, Watson Frazar, has helped continue what the Moore family began.
Frazar Watson moved to Arlington in 1966, building the Frazar Mortuary, which he later sold to the Moore family. Frazar eventually became president and manager of Moore Funeral Home. In the 1980s, Moore built their newest chapel at the corner of Bowen Road and Pleasant Springs near I-20 to accommodate the rapidly growing needs of Southeast Tarrant County.
